Library Advisory Council

What is the Library Advisory Council?

The library council will work with the library staff and the PHS community to develop programs, better utilize library space, advise and promote  print and online collections, provide feedback and guidance on new and existing technologies.

Who should join?

  • Students who enjoy community service
  • Students who have ideas or suggestions about library services
  • Students who have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Students who can secure a recommendation about their qualifications from a PUSD teacher

What are the benefits of being on the Library Advisory Council?

  • You will have a say in library programs and materials
  • You will gain satisfaction from serving your community and peers
  • You will have the opportunity to work as a team in a leadership role
  • You will be able to your improve your resume and/or college application by adding the library advisory council experience.

What is the commitment?

  • Monthly lunch meetings
  • Participating in library programs/projects
  • Acting as a leader and role model for peers while visiting/using the library.

All applicants will be notified of their acceptance by February 16.  First advisory council meeting will be on Tuesday, February 27 at lunch in the library.
