6/5/2013  Textbook Bag Design Contest

The winner of our first textbook bag design contest is Brandon Yamaguchi.  Thanks to all four participants.  A prize awaits you at the library.  Brandon's limited edition textbook bag will be available in August at registration.  See you then Titans!

3/19/2013  Author's Trivia Day 1
Almost everyone that entered got this one right!  Ms. White went to Brigham Young University.

The 1st contest is a coloring contest. Coloring sheets of paranormal creature featured in Ms. White's series are available at the library circulation desk.  We would like to decorate the library with them to welcome Ms. White.  We will ask her to select the winner.

2nd contest is a Kiersten White trivia contest.  For this one you will need to use your internet search skills.  Each school day until April 4, we will feature a question.  The student and staff that answer the most questions correctly will win the prizes.  If there is more than one student and staff winner, the time of entries will be the determining factor.  First question appears above.

3/18/2013  Author Visit Preparation
To get ready for Kiersten White's visit after break the library is hosting 2 contests. Both contests include prizes of the winners' choice of the author's books, autographed of course.
3/13/2013  PHS Author Visit April 4

Paranormalcy, Supernaturally, Endlessly and Mind Games are author Kiersten White's bestsellers.  She will be on campus Thursday, April 4 to speak with classes, 4th period and will stay through lunch (in K-1) to talk with any interested students. 

Mysterious Galaxy is sponsoring this event and will have copies of Ms. White's books available for purchase and autographing.


Book Group has   decided to read  Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell.
All students are invited to read and participate.  We will have 10 books available for book group participants to check out next week.  Our discussion will be on April 24.

Need something to read now that you've finished your finals?  Why not start on the classics?  We have a new ebook platform, FollettShelf. SIRS Researcher is a Proquest database.  We currently subscribe to eLibrary, History Study Center and Literature Center.  We are considering switching out SIRS Researcher for eLibrary.

10/1 - 10/5  Banned Books Week

This week we celebrate our freedom to read.  To learn more or to see frequently challenged books visit the ALA BBW site. We will feature a different celebrity reading from their favorite banned book. 

Take a look at this awesome Timeline of 30 Years of Liberating Literature made on Tiki-Toki. You could use this tool to make your own.


Test out our two new Career/College subscription databases:

EBSCO's database for both career and college information, Use the username and password on the back of your ID card, then you will need to enter CA13695 as the Site ID.   
Features careers and colleges as well. When you set up a personal login in either you will be able to store your preferred careers, colleges and assessments  

The last day to let us know about textbook damage is Monday, September 17.

Our hours this year are:

  • Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. 
  • Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3 p.m. 

On late start Mondays (the first is Sept. 10) we open at 8:45 a.m.

We look forward to seeing you before school, at break, at lunch and after school.  If you'd like to come during class make sure you come with a pass.
